MPS Library Mission

The mission of the Mercyhurst Prep Betsy and Bill Vorsheck Library/Research Center is to cultivate a student-centered environment of academic discovery that encourages intellectual curiosity; personal exploration; and success in the classroom, as well as instill in students a lifelong passion for learning and reading.

Bill and Betsy Vorsheck

The MPS Betsy and Bill Vorsheck Library/Research Center is named for Betsy Hirt Vorsheck ’73 and her husband Bill who generously supported the transformation of the library, as well as the DREAM Labs, named for Betsy’s parents Audrey Sitter Hirt ’45 and Bill Hirt.  Aside from being an alumna, Audrey Hirt was also a Mercyhurst Prep teacher for several years in the 70’s.
